When being offered a full time job within a company and they give you a contract to read and sign to accept the offer, do they have to supply a description of the job which includes a job title and a detailed job / roll description?

I think (maybe wrongly) that by law they have to outline your duties and a full job description to be with the contract offer?

They can be as vague as they like as far as I know.

Whilst it is good practice to provide a copy of the job description, it is not a legal requirement. The contract only has to state the job title.

In my experience the job description and actual job are never the same.

It will likely also have words to the effect that you will be required to do any reasonable task that the business sees fit.
