Apprenticeship qualification issue - Any recourse?

Right, my issuse is that I am 3 years into a 3 year manufacturer backed apprenticeship at a dealer as a service tech.

The apprenticeship heavily releys of SN external assessor making dealer vista and assessing that you can actually do the job compedantly. This is where everything has fallen down in my. I must had about 10 different assessors from at least three different companies. Each one seemingly more incompetent than the last. Work has gone missing, gotten damaged and of course people have simply not bothered to come and visit me when they have been contracted to. As a result I am not even close to being qualified despite doing all of the work I needed to do on mmy end.

I am laying most of the blame at the feet of the current company who provides the assessors. They have had me for around two years but due to mismanagement that they themselves admit to they let this single assessor effectively put me and numerous other people back a few years. The extent of his failure wasn't picked up on until a few months ago when he was sacked on the spot.

Anyway, I am rambling. The long and short of it is that I was wondering if there was any grounds of legal action, possibly on loss of earnings because as it stands I am still not qualified and obviously I am not in the postion to be asking for considerably more than my current wage because after all, where am I going to go?

There also the matter of this drama partly contributing to a bit of on going depression (haven't needed time off but it is noted by my go). I feel trapped and like i can't continue with my life properly until this is resolved.

Please don't think that I am only asking this because I want a quick pay out of some kind. All I want is for the company to stop fobbing me off, get their acts together and get me qualified. They are still insistent that everything is done 100% above board and correctly with no extra resources being devoted meaning if looks like I am going to be waiting at least another year before I am sorted. I am sorry but in my mind the time for doing things 'properly ' was nearly two years ago. Ideally I want them to come in ffor a week, tick a few boxes and tell mw tto await my certificates in the post.

I am obviously competent in my work. My employer and colleagues will back me up in that. I don't see why I should waste a year of my life proveing this to this company when they have been so disinterested and generally st.

I just want them to listen...

I take it you will have been compiling some kind of logbook for your apprenticeship as well as the assessments?

Cant really offer much advice but if it were me I would be being the biggest pain in the ass the assessment company and any exam governing body have ever had.

I do have a portfolio, but some work is lost, damaged or no longer relevant to the qualification due to the IMI changing the goal posts half way through the game (something the this company likes to blame, but the fact remains that if they were ontop of what they needed to be ontop of the changes wouldn't have effected me anyway)

I've tried being as awkward as possible and did get my employer involved which did help... until they were fobbed off with the same old promises that I've heard all before. It simply isn't good enough and I need some sort of action taking.

If I had to go legal (if I have the grounds) then so be it. Just as long as they sit up and realize that whilst a few hundred other apprentices may be happy wasting another few years of their lives, I'm not quite so keen .
