Not for me but my OH. She has worked in pubs and bars for 30 years and has managed for about 20. She has also run off licences and is a qualified accountant.

Looking for a new Managed house near the South Coast, between Bognor and Southampton.

She has gained a reputation for turning 'problem' pubs round and has experience of everything from Village local pubs, Family pubs, food-based pub-restaurants to busy town sports bars.

Any links to some of the smaller local breweries or pub-management companies would be extremely welcome!

OK, she's still looking!
Currently doing relief pub management and short-term 'pub-sitting but really wants somewhere permanent again!

Has she considered utilising her proven competencies (finance, customer service, project management, negotiating, buying and people management) in other sectors if pubs are not forthcoming? Good luck!

I wish!
She could get a far better paying job but she feels really out of place in an office.
Job satisfaction is important to her and she really enjoys running pubs, despite the ridiculously long hours, physically tiring work and annoying pissed customers! smile

OK, possible diversification here!
My OH is looking for a new position in the Hampshire/South coast area.
Although she has been managing public houses for the past 10 years she is also qualified in many other fields.
She is an extremely outgoing ‘People-Person’
Well organised.
Methodical,
Innovative.
Dedicated.
As well as having various BII qualifications and a Personal licence she is also:-
ERQA certified (Quality Controller for a paper/cardboard/box factory)
Certified (NOT chartered) accountant
She has worked in:-
Accounting, Insurance, Financial services.
Quality Control
Stocktaking and auditing
Has had specialist driving training by Mercedes.
She is ideally seeking a position which is customer-facing, managerial, NOT 9-5 office-based.
Preferably in the licensed industry (pubs, brewery companies etc.), or hospitality industry.

Any suggestions?

As a minimum, she should have got herself on to the Olympics bandwagon; possibly too late now, but worth a call to some of the larger hotel/brewery chains or agencies.

Post Olympics; her skills are directly transferable to medical practice management for example if thats of any interest.

See http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/details/Default.aspx?... for role description.

See http://www.firstpracticemanagement.co.uk/index.php... for some vacancies.

If she is seriously looking to diversify, then her CV will need to convert her 'brewery' skills in to easily recognisable transferrable skills; PM me if you need help with this, it's what I do.

Good luck to her!
