I suspect you may fall foul of equality regulations, you can't even ask someone's age so doubt very much you could exclusively employ females.

All bar one of the female mechanics I've ever come across have been dog rough anyway!

I can see the point in having a garage staffed by females, would make some female customers feel better about being ripped off, and workers feel less discriminated against etc, but i agree that you would get into trouble with regards to sex discrimination. I am sure that you would be able to achieve your aims and not fall foul of an laws, personally i don't care the gender of who working on my car, and i am sure a girl as happy to rip of people as the lads so i go to garages when i am really really must.

Why? There's a women driver only Taxi firm in the town that I lived and they never had a problem with the law.

apparently not as long as it is less than 5 people
