Hours between shifts
Discussion
Just a quick question hopefully!
Coming up to Xmas I've been asked to do some extra hours at work, finishing at midnight, which I don't have a problem with, but they want me to start the day after at 8am.
Can they say I have to do this? I seem to remember hearing that I need 10/11 hours between a shift.
Might seem petty, but I hate the place and not pleased with having to work longer anyway

Do you work in hospitality by an chance? you will find that most hotel and restaurant staff will have only a couple of hours between shifts. ie they will do 7am-11am then have a break and come back and do 7pm till midnight then do the same again the next day. weekends are worse, some people i know (assistant manager and manager) will do 12 mid-day till 5 then be back at 6.30 till 1am and be back at 6am the next morning and work through till 4pm. Very true. When I was assistant beverage manager for a hotel chain this was my weekend every week. I'd often finish at 4-5am and stay in the hotel and be back on shift for 10 am.it wouldnt be that bad but the money is
