no kids but do have a mortgage. i'd probly have a short, cheapish holiday for a bit of thinking space tho.M.
Honestly, if I had my time again, I'd have done something like this. A mortgage's never going to give you memories you'll cherish all your life.

I'd utterly immerse myself in speciality food industry. It's sort of what I'm doing now, but I don't have time to do it to the degree I'd like to do it.
For example, I'd really like to spend some time working alongside a really good butcher, learning by example rather than trying to improve my skills by simply reading and practicing at home. I do spend a bit of time on farms etc, but nowhere near as much as I'd like to. I'd also like another foodie holiday where I can just travel around, finding out how the locals do stuff, finding unheard of speciality products, that sort of thing.
Basically just taking the time to get totally smitten with the whole idea before starting, rather than now where I just try and fit it around my schedule, and miss out on loads of opportunities to do the stuff that really makes me tick.

I was a class 2 HIAB truck driver for a builders merchants, i got laid off november 7th so i went out and upgraded to class 1 two weeks ago currently waiting to do my ADR ticket.
You will need to complete the theory test, hazard perception test, class 2 then class 1 depending if you have grandfather rights or not you may also have to complete module 2 and module 4, total cost around £2500-3000 and then you have to find a job with no experience, good luck.

I'm under no illusion that all these things you see (for example that the UK is short of 40,000 HGV drivers) is garbage, but it'd be a good skill to have on the CV.
My last employer went bust so waiting on that being sorted and my redundancy along with it, but at that time I was made redundant I already was in another part time delivery driver job (in a van) that has developed into me doing about 30 hours per week now.
So it's something to tide me over right now. If I was unemployed then I probably would want to keep my redundancy intact until I had something else to go to.
