I fear the worst

I am employed by an agency and assigned to work on a specific program for a very large company.

At just before 5:00 tonight I was called by the agency (first time they have ever contacted my in 18 months of working for them) and invited to a meeting at 10:00 tomorrow to discuss the "longevity of the assignment and my options".


I guess that by 10.05 tomorrow I could be on the dole, again.

I worked for an agency and received a similar call a while ago, however it was so that I would be directly employed by the company I was working for So it might not be bad news!

I'll be crossing my fingers for you that it's the above!!

Quite possibly your assignment could be timetabled go past the period when you are regarded as a permanent employee at the place you are working at and you need to be advised of your options to continue in this case.

I have an interview on the 5th for a similar job with another agency/manufacturer and have applied for a Service Managers job at a local (ish) dealer.

Could be worse - they didn't make you work the notice at least. Hopefully you'll have some nice weather to enjoy while you are gardening.

All the employment agencies I've been speaking to have said that they're expecting to get quite a lot of roles authorised once the new financial year rolls round.

It's only a job mate, at the end of the day you still have the important things, health, family etc.

we are all thinking this is bad news, if you get 4 weeks paid leave and a good redundancy package and then another job things could work out well for you

Probably won't be a great package as I have only been there 18 months.

I am now a dole scrounger

To cap it all I got rejected for 2 jobs that I had applied for today, one of which I had been interviewed for.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. However, Im in Dubai where there's no such thing as benefits! 5 weeks now and its driving me mental. At least you have options and have had intervews....thats a positive.
