professionally written CV's , are they any good?

Hello,
I have been thinking about having my CV professional written.
I know the costs can vary from £30 to £200+
Are they any good? Are they worth the money?
Can anyone recommend someone they have used?

I had it done a couple of years back - paid about 45 quid,

He gave me some good tips.

was it worth it? maybe. i dont think it had any direct effect on me getting a job - but some of the tips, especially to do with formatting were useful.

A fully developed outcomes based CV can only help your cause. To not have one may make you less competitive against others. For the time they take and modest cost involved v not getting the role and thus the salary and pension you desire make it a must-have. But then I would say that (as both a hirer and advisor). I'd say no. I had one written for me about 6 months ago by a very well known outfit. Its been on monster et al and been used several times to apply for roles well within my exeperience range...

Not a single interview.

I had that success rate with the one I'd written!

Any outsourced CV would be better than one written by someone who doesn't know to use an apostrophe properly.
