Ok guys and girls, I've landed a job interview next week for a national company that provides facilities management. The job is to check electric things then stick little stickers on plugs and stuff wink

I didn't know much about the company tbh, so obviously I'll be spamming up on that side of things, but is there anything in particular I should or shouldn't do?

As always, any advice is much appreciated. smile

Pat testing? Do they train you for the job? if so then concentrate on the non job stuff.

I don't think job specific training is provided as the advert asked for qualifications and preferably experience, both of those bases I have covered.

Guess I'll be talking for a while about my previous experience and quals then, and possibly how I expect to fit in with the company etc?

Recent research suggests that all interview questions stem from 3 core questions: can you do the job; will you enjoy doing the job; and will you fit in to the organisation? If you can answer all of those, or derivatives of those, convincingly, then that's you sorted! Good luck!

I've been getting alot of the "competency based" questions in recent interviews.

"Tell me about a time where.....

You influenced people
Overcame a problem"

etc

I recently had an interview with the competency based questions and I generally don't like them because I come from an engineering background where all my questions have been technical based on my ability

Could you provide an example of where you resurrected something that people thought long dead?

It's not dead. It was just sleeping ... for five years.

Wonder if the OP ever got the PAT-testing job?
