A friend of mine forwarded this job offer to me, she was thinking of applying and wanted my advice. I said I thught it looked a little suspect.

Their address returns as Bradshaw Johnson & Blackwell Accountants. Sounds very dodgy.

What would be the legal consequences for someone doing this, provided they get paid as claimed ?

I've always assumed that ignorance is no defence. So you'd be charged.....

We are not saying the link is illegal of course. Just that it looks a bit, er, unusal. smile

Definitely something dodgy... Western Union or MoneyGram...yeah right.

Seems that they also need access to your personal account. Only fools will fall for this! Certainly impressive from the days of "I've got inheritance money for you waiting" ...

Money laundering all day long. Stay well clear, it'll come back to bite you in the backside if you take money from them.

I've advised her to give it a wide berth.

Interesting that this 'job' is listed with Reed Employment.

I disagree - looks great - I mean who wouldn't want up to 14 years paid holiday (depending on lkitchen, laundry or library work) with full board paid, dental and education benefits.

I'm in! Not. Cannot see how this can, in any way at all, be considered honest, legal or above board. I would be worried every time the front door bell rang just in case it was some gun wielding ATF official wanting to haul my ass to the USA for the next 30 years!!

It's just so blatantly a scam. Run away.

I've advised her to do this.

I think what caught her on the hop is that it was emailed as a proper job opportunity by Reed Employment - which lent it an air of respectability.
