Evening,
My wife has today been told she is being made redundant. In the worst case situation that she need's to claim job seekers allowance can anyone tell me if having savings will affect he ability to claim?
Thanks,
Adrian

Depends on a few things, but if she's been paying full NI contributions for more than a year I think she'll get 6 months before they'll look at your savings.

Almost correct. It's two years.

If she is paid notice then she can't claim until the notice period is past. £71 per week

Thanks very much. She has been in the job full time for over 3 years so sounds like its all going to be fine. Hopefully a new job will turn up soon anyway although not so sure in this climate!
