The interviewers will be looking for someone that they would be happy to take out on patrol with them, not the next Chief Constable.
Sober suit and tie, well polished shoes. Tidy hair. No piercings.
Leave masonic regalia at home.

I failed mine for a perceived lack of preperation and motivation (this wasn't the case as such, just failed to properly explain it, thought I'd covered it in an earlier question), and also in mine the question that threw me and I didn't quite understand was they wanted to know if I could identify where certain ethnic groups typically live within Greater Manchester.

Anything else I need to be aware of? This has all came about from a transferred application so will they pick on the fact that this force was not my 'first' choice so to speak? In all honesty I would pick this force over my home force anyway because of its size and the increased opportunities a larger force has.

So long as you can justify it I wouldn't imagine it being an issue, choice of force was a question I was asked.Anything else I need to be aware of? Just tell them you'd love to work for G4S in the future and you have no problem with your conditions of service being changed and pissed about with on the say so of a rail regulator.

have a look at policing plans and objectives for the force concerned, know who the Chief Constable is, be politically correct and show you have an understanding of the role in its broadest terms
check the force's website. there's bound to be some good info that'll help you.

Generic questions such as this may pop up:
-How have you dealt with inappropriate behaviour (bullying/sexist/racist/criminal )in your current workplace and what was the outcome?
-What community work have you done and what positive outcome did it have?
-What minorities are there in your area-remember to cover all of the usuals(including travellers!) ,as well as sexual orientation.
-Policing priorities-memorise them.
Try and transmit a positive attitude and try and remain in one,should you have a dry spell.
Dont be afraid to ask to return to a question if you're a bit stuck.
Sit on the edge of your seat.Lots of eye contact and remember to pour yourself a glass of water as soon as you get into the room.You made need it if you get a dry throat and trying to pour a glass of water when your cacking it,may cause an unwanted mishap.

When I had my interview the questions were based around the competencies they were looking for i.e.Looks like I will have to start writing up ideas for answers to some of these questions!
Team working
Diversity
Personal responsibility
Resilience
Problem solving
Dealing with conflict
They were looking for specific examples of where you had dealt these situations (as opposed to generic waffle), what you chose to do and why. Expect to be challenged about what you did, was it the best choice, why didn't you do Y instead of X etc. Be prepared to justify your choices or say what you would do differently in the same situation if applicable. Try to give examples from a range of situations, work, social activities, family etc.
In addition to the competency related questions there were the usual interview type questions; strengths and weaknesses, what would you bring to the job etc.

It is an interview, though don't look at it like that. Looks like I will have to start writing up ideas for answers to some of these questions!
Regard it as a conversation with some like minded (hopefully) people you've just met, and talk to them as such. They aren't out to get you, so relax, be your self and enjoy it.
