Loss prevention analyst - salary

As above realy, I have been approched by a large Hotel chain and consiquentley 'invited' to an interview for the position of loss prevention analyst. What they are looking for is someone to prevent credit card fraud / fraudulant room bookings.
Is there anybody, in this kind of work who can give me an idea of what sort of renumeration package I can expect. My background was 22 years as a Customs Officer, based at Heathrow.

Do you have previous experience of card payments ? card fraud ? Or any kind of acquirer fraud prevention.

If not then expect less than 20k, if you do then upwards of 30k. People with really good knowledge are rare and the vancancies limited (because it tends to be done by the acquirer not the merchant).

Thanks for that, my background is in anti smuggling / investigation. My bet is they will want to pay the lower end.

That may only be the case if you don't have something tangible to offer in terms of RoI. If you can demonstrate at interview that your skills and experience will add value in both that area and maybe others, and above other candidates, then you may be able to command a higher remuneration package. Why not consider mentioning some sort of bonus scheme (if not already in place) whereby you receive a % of your tangible recoveries/preventions? Good luck!

My role has had the word Analyst in the title for years and I work with several analysts and not once has a joke about anal come up. And sometimes the humour here does possibly step over the line

No half as bad as when you have to 'deal' with what a drugs swollower produces. And THAT needs a clean before you can use it as eveidence.

Analists are not known for their sense of humour.
