in a job interview

went for a job which I was told in no uncertain terms I was overqualified for

it involved my forte advertising (proper agency advertising not the tele sales kind ) and a good knowledge of cars (also exemplary)

I happened to mention i visit Pistonheads daily and the guys ears pricked up

should I join the back of the dole queue?

yes

I would never ever mention any forums I visit.

"Do you have Facebook?"
"No way!"
"I see you have Grindr..."
"Goddammit. What are you doing tonight?"

Please tell me this was down south somewhere and in no way commutable from Harrogate. On the other hand, if you didn't get the job, do us a favour and let me know whereabouts it is biggrin

I did once have my boss at the time tell me to "stop reading fking Pistonheads and get some work done".

The fact that he was grinning and that there was no logo visible on the screen, however, did rather change the perspective of the "reprimand". hehe
