Evening, my step sister has to organise her work experience ready for next November but is struggling to get any responce to where she would like to do it. Really she would like to work at the BBC. Does anyone have any advice what would or who would be the best to contact? Any advice would be appreciated, and a virtual beer will be on the way.

Big organisation with wide ranging jobs i.e does she want to shadow a cameraman or the Director general - an answer to this and geographic clue might elicit a more useful response.

My guess, as you don't say, is that she is on some sort of media degree at uni? If so, she can write to BBC like 5,000 other undergraduates, or she can target her approach to other independent outfits based upon her strengths and interests, as well as her location. Good luck to her!

I suspect you'd need serious contacts to even be considered...

Can see your geographic area from your profile, PM me with what she is looking to do work experience wise and I'll see if I can help.

If she's school age, easy to get in for a week/fortnight, if she is already at university, more difficult due to their talent pool scheme and the length of application/selection time.

Took my OH over 2 years to get a foot in the door, but it was worth the wait.
