Any work for them ? What are they like at senior manager/director level ? work life balance ?

Not E&Y but my OH was a senior manager at PwC for a few years. Work life balance - mmm, let's see - the receptioist at the London Bridge hotel was on first name terms and saw more of him than I did!! One of th reasons he left wwas because I was literally scared he ewasn't going to make 50 and ironically he did have a heart attack at 50 but working elsewhere.

All the big consultancies expect you to do the hours necessary to do the job, 99% of work is at the client site, so could be anywhere, but then they pay well for that expectation.

Any of the Big 4 Consultancies will want their pound of flesh, and expect long hours (assuming customer facing, non cutsomer facing is not quite as bad) however they generally pay well and offer career progression in return.

EY are one of the better ones, I've not worked for them however I have worked alongside them and employed some of their ex employees. If you want to work in consulting, you could do a lot worse. Their staff seem very switched on and want to do a good job for the client, and there is a lot to be said for that

Like any company, it depends on who your boss is and what part of the business you work in

I have a good friend who has just rejoined there from BarCap having done his first 5 years at E&Y and then leaving for 5 years.

He speaks highly of them. Tough but fair, politics exists but not too manic. Weekends seem sacrosanct.
