Hi Guys,


I'm looking at getting into offshore work at an entry level such as a greenhand or roustabout etc.

What is the best way to go about it... Get survival ticket done on a course such as this?

should I do the banksman and slinger courses too?

I know these courses dont guarantee a job but they should help on a cv I presume ?

I have some mechanical experience currently a hgv semi skilled mechanic

I really want to get offshore and get working I'm only 22 no ties etc just need advice about geting started.

I dont know anyone in the offshore industry (person retired)

I am not an offshore worker but obviously the more ticks on your cv the better. Alot of people will use a stepping stone to get into oil related equipment. Being a mechanic you will already have most of the related skills but its easier to be get specific oil tool training onshore than at the deep end so to speak. I work for a company that overhauls Plane engines for the offshore industry, alot of people do it this way.

Cheers for the reply, I've already decided on going back to Education then going into the oil ans gas industry a diffrent route.
