ReTraining to be a Plumber

Am considering the above, but i have a few questions:

1. These "all-in-one" we'll train you to earn mega £££'s type courses that seem to cost anywhere between £5-10K - are they worth it? If not, whats the best way to train up asap?

2. Is the industry in good shape at the mo? is there a lot of work about in the South East/Midlands?

3. Is it a career you'd recommend?

Any advice from plumbers/plumbers in training gratefully received.
