Hi,
I'm about to be made redundant, due to recieve statutory redundancy and PILON
I understand my PILON will be reduced by my claiming Jobseekers allowance (but by the same amount, so no real change)

But as I don't intend to be unemployed for long, and would hate the whole job centre experience, can I not sign on, recieve my PILON payment and get myself a job asap?

I see it as less form-filling for me and the job centre, more time spent actually job hunting?

Why would your PILON get reduced by the amount of JSA you claimed?

There is no obligation to claim it (although careful of missed NI contributions).

I your jsa was deducted from your PILON?
Does it make any difference that i'm being made redundant from a company in administration?
Thanks for reply

Is this "compensatory notice pay"? If so, yes you must claim JSA and yes it will be deducted.
