Pepsico - what are they like as an employer?

Hi, I have a telephone interview with Pepsico (based in Reading) next week, and I gather they want to move pretty quickly with appointing. Does anyone work for them, or have worked there, who could give me an idea what it's like? Do they have a flexible working style and quite laid back like the agency has told me or is it all about meeting targets and pressurized?

Any info gratefully received.

I haven't personally worked there but a friend did and I think it depends very much on which department you're in.

She always said that the culture was good and she had some great oppertunities as a result but there was alot of pressure on the sales people to hit targets.

Thanks for that. This job isn't in Sales, more a technical 'back-office' kind of role.

I know a couple of people who have worked for them as contractors and the feedback has been that they are a nice client to work with. This has been on IT projects.

Ive worked on a couple of their sites previously as a contractor for 12+ years, and have to say they always seemed to be a very good company to work for in terms of their employees.

The people I dealt with at junior/middle management type positions always spoke well about working for them, their prospects and benefits, as well as people a bit lower down the chain.

Im positive there will be ones though who dislike it, but you'll probably find they're the negative sods that dislike everything

Before I moved into accounting I worked in Field Sales for Kraft Foods and knew quite a few people who worked for PepsiCo, however they were account management/field sales roles. They actually offered me a job but I was getting out of field sales anyway or I'd have taken it, the staff I know are all happy and sang the companies praises.

Thanks for all the feedback, it makes making a decision so much easier should I be offered the job. I have the telephone interview tomorrow and I've done bugger all prep for it, so I'd better get on with it!
