advice apprecated - ICT post grad distance learning

Hi

I am - like thousands of others here on PH I'm sure - working in the contract IT Project/Programme Management field. I don’t have a deep technical background. Whilst this hasn't held me back hugely, I do feel a need to build a core and broad level of technical knowledge. I have all the standard prince / msp / itil / isaca boxes ticked.

I have looked at the OU ict offering and it all feels a little piecemeal and forces you down a particular path - ideally I'd like to pursue a course which gives you a holistic view of ICT from a broad systems integration perspective. I'd appreciate any insight or experience of part time distance learning courses offered by UK institutions. 

I appreciate there isn't a huge deal to go on here - just throwing it out there for now!

Apologies if it is there, but I cannot tell from your post whether your main aim is to improve knowledge through learning or improve employability; whilst of course they are linked, they are not exactly the same. If it's knowledge, then look at course prospectus and find the one that best meets your needs. If it's about employability, scour the jobs you aspire to and see what they are demanding as essential that you don't currently have then study that! Good luck!
