Afternoon all,
Currently in a decent job with good prospects (indeed have just been offered a promotion) in middle management. However, I really find as time continues in said job I just do not enjoy it.
Now I am only 20, soon to be 21, without a degree. I do have 4 A Levels of decent grade but am not really interested in University. Fwiw the A levels are Maths, Physics, English Lit and Media studies. All B or higher if it's of any relevance. Interests include cars/motorsport (obviously
) and photography mainly, however I would be willing to do just about anything. The engineer/design side of things really appeals.
I have had a browse around the various job websites, uploaded CVs and sent CVs off to various places. However, I really can't nail down what it is I would enjoy or if I do it needs a degree/experience etc etc. I know this probably all sounds a bit vague, but I guess what I am hoping is someone might fire off a suggestion that I haven't thought of and that will be the one.
I currently earn about £20k/year depending on overtime and whatnot but pay isn't such a concern. Same/more would be great but would be willing to take less if it's something I will like.

Think about what you do now, and things you've done before, including hobbies etc. Think about the individual things you do or have learnt etc rather than the job/interest as a whole.
What tasks did you like the best?
What tasks did you like the least?
What tasks do you think you've been good at?
What would you have liked to have taken further?
What bits of colleagues/customers jobs sound interesting?
When reading round or watching TV, what kind of things hold your interest?
Write all of that down in a list and look and see if any themes appear. What kinds of jobs might fit the theme(s)?
Alternately, try google for a whole host of articles and online tests re career choices.
