Due to a restructure we have a position which is now redundant

The employee in question has been with the organisation for a considerable length of time

We have got a "quote" from HR of the redundancy costs and I have a question

I understood the maximum statutory pay to be capped at £12900 and yet we are being told we have to pay half as much again

I cant remember where I heard the £12900 figure or if its even correct hence the question

Yes, SRP is capped to £12,900. Does you company offer enhanced redundancy pay? That might be where the extra amount is coming from.

I see what they have done now , they have used the term statutory but the final amount is subject to a x2 factor as a company policy

Thanks for your help
