I've got an interview later today and i struggle with nerves during interviews as i'm not fantastic under pressure/stress

Just wondering if anyone had any Zen like wisdom?

Imagine you're interviewing the panel to ensure you're going to enjoy working for them! You should do this anyway, but rephrasing your position like that may help you. Practice also helps too! Good luck!

Don't tell them you aren't fantastic under pressure. wink

Seriously though, if the interviewers are complete aholes, they probably won't be especially nice to work with - the advice about you interviewing them is good.

AS above. You are also interviewing them and the company to see if you would want to work there.

How did you get on?

I have one tomorrow, not nervous, but concious I should be in bed, not pandering to a demanding guinea pig!!!

They say the trick is to imagine them naked.
I say the real trick is knowing when to stop, I've been in this job for over a decade and I still can't look them in the eyes....

If the people I work with were naked, looking them in the eyes would be the safest bet!!!

I suggest a noticeable trouser tent might not count towards you in the post-interview evaluation.

Or, it could count towards you and set you up for a role fraught with sexual harassment.

Don't give up mate, think about what went well and what didn't, and make a plan to improve your technique.

Sorry I read this too late.

Boots sell a packet of sweets, various flavours etc which has plenty of glucose in it.

Like Tunes except sugary. Don't know why it works but someone told me years ago to give it a go and it works wonders!!!!!

HTH for the next interview!

Sorry to hear this. Have you had or asked for any feedback? Did you learn something from the experience that you will use the next time? Good luck!

Don't worry mate another job will come along.

Ask them for feedback so you can learn what, if anything, you did wrong.

It will happen, don't worry

I have a mate out of work for over two years, I think where he has gone wrong is to hold out for the exact same job and rewards?

I have taken a part-time job, at a 50% reduction in hourly rate, just to avoid jobcentre, and had two further offers this week. Seems they have appreciated the fact I wanted to work!

Good luck

I find a bit of heroin really takes the edge off.

If there's a Holland and Barrett near you, it isn't be worth giving 'Rescue Remedy' a try. I use it before giving presentations and it seems to get rid of the nerves or at least take 'the edge' off.
