Any kitchen designers out there?
Discussion
Have just bagged an interview to become a kitchen designer.
Just wondered if any of you would be able to shed some light on what I might need to know. I've been a decorator since I left school 6 years ago so this is a big step into the unknown for me.
Would be very grateful for any help and advice.
Thanks

I've spent 20 years doing kitchen design, on and off.
You need practical understanding of how a kitchen goes together, you need to understand how a kitchen is used and what people want in them. You must also understand sales techniques, pricing, space planning, order processes, admin, finance.... You name it its a handy knowledge to have in this game.
Most important is that if the customer doesn't trust you or have confidence in you not matter how good your design is you will sell bugger all!
