Uses for my "new" formal qualification.....
Discussion
Just undertaking a Level 7 CMI Diploma in Strategic Leadership. Will complete later this year.
Currently in an Operational role within education (FE) in probably a super-specific sector: music technology & production.
Soooo......just deciding on options open to me with my new quals (current employer doesn't have, and won't have any opportunities soon).....
Thoughts? Alternative roles?
Just trying to think laterally here...

Congratulations! I see many CVs, both as an employer and as an advisor and the lack of relevant and recent CPD does harm an aplicant's chances when up against those who have taken steps to improve their knowledge and competencies. So I would say that this is a great step if it's part of a package when trying to market yourself. Assuming your future trajectory requires evidence of leadership knowledge and skills, then this will do you no harm. Have you considered applying to become a Chartered Manager too via the CMI? Good luck!
Since you're doing a CMI qualification, you might as well get maximum benefit from the CMI: e.g. networking events (both national events and your local branch), career advice through the CMI's online forum, enhanced CV through achieving Chartered status, etc. The CMI is a good organisation, IMO.
Good luck!
Good luck!
