Employment Law Advice - Suggestions
Discussion
Dear all
My employer is potentially going through some corporate "activity" and may be subsumed by a larger competitor firm.
I've not been through this process before, and I get the feeling that this one is going to be a bit messy. They appear many more staff on the other side of the fence, with "too many chiefs and not enough Indians". I am at the younger end of the age spectrum, but with a decent amount of experience in my role (started at company at 18, now 24 and sit on the executive committee overseeing the business). I'm a tad paranoid about my role as any potential deal progresses, and I get the feeling I won't be offered an equivalent role (which is currently taken by many chiefs, so may naturally be given the role of one of the aforementioned Indians, which would be a step down the career ladder).
I can't really confess to knowing much about employment law. I think approaching employment solicitors might be overkill (especially when at present I have nothing concrete to scrutinise, and I may just be assuming the worst), though others may suggest otherwise that have been in these situations, but are there any suggestions of things to consider when I start comparing my options / package?
Cheers all.
