Great news! Are you able to share why you think it took so long and how you managed to secure this new role for those if us with a keen interest in such things?

If I'm perfectly honest it took so long because I am overqualified for many of the jobs I went for, so was rejected out of hand, and I didn't go for lots of others I could easily have done because I believe I'm worth more than £15k a year.

This one suits me down to the ground and the agent who put me forward clearly spotted that from my CV.

I did try touting round a dumbed down version of said CV but it looked st, frankly. It's quite hard to hide 25+ years of customer facing experience, 5 year of management and 2 years as a trainer...

I stuck to touting my CV on every job site I could find, applying for roles from the e-mails these generated and registering with all the agencies I could find locally.

This role was advertised by Adecco.
