If the question was in better English, then people might be in a better position to answer it.
What is the question trying to say?
Is it -
A time you HAVE shown good negotiation skills?
A time you HAVE BEEN shown good negotiation skills?
Both are quite different in meaning.
The pedantic police are at the door. What is the question trying to say?

Well done, finding a post where I asked a question.
Except, my question had context and content, yours tells us nothing.
You need to think about my question in the context of yours. We really can't give you examples of when YOU negotiated. We can help with what would make a good answer but you need to give us some context, like what's the job and what you have done in the past.

Negotiation implies a bit of bargaining,
When did you concede something, in order to gain something else. (presumably that you wanted more)
How did you approach the process, did you have an absolute position, or could you freely make the decision.
what was your best next alternative if the negotiation failed, did you reveal that alternative to the other party.
This is a pretty basic question, I would stay away from the personal (eg a salary negotiation) and focus on how you achieved a business result.

It would be better if you could demonstrate your skills in a work environment. How you do this obviously depends on your role. It could be negotiating a new contract, terms and prices with suppliers, union negotiations, with people for resources impacting schedules or plans, with the auditors over non-conformances etc. Use the STAR format. The T is normally for Task though.

One is a question that you would ask a normal, sane human being at an interview.
One you wouldn't.
What a ridiculously obtuse post.
I used to find your posting inciteful, sharp and interesting Eric, now they irritate.
A shame.
