What is the consulting market like, potential redundancy.
Discussion
I've been through the redundancy process with my firm 5 times in 7 years and I am going through it again at the moment. I have been with the firm 14 years and have delivered some big projects, both as a project manager and a process improvement manager. I am quite confident I can keep my role due to my experience and deliveries.
However I just wondered what the market was like out there at the moment for this type of role? As this job uncertainty is equivalent to being a consultant without the salary benefits!

The answer to your question will depend upon your sector experience, anticipated daily rate and how far you are willing to travel. There are opportunities, but insight in to the latter will shape the answer more accurately. Good luck!
Thanks. Sector experience is solely financial services (pensions and investments), anticipated daily rate from others that have left and contracting role adverts is 350-450 per day. Travel is a difficult one, I live 2 miles from my office currently, the thought of traveling 2 to 3 hours a day for 6 months is tolerable, anything longer I think I would start to feel it. Good luck!
Set up a custom search on www.indeed.co.uk as well, put in keywords and location and it should hopefully give you a regular stream.
Good luck
