Redundancy

Made 'at risk' this morning with a review on Friday. I know fine well I am out of a job but they are giving us 30 days notice of which we do not need to work. Am I correct in saying I will not be able to sign on until the 25th July? Obviously I hope to find gainful employment by then but you just never know.

They should tell you this, if you are made redundant.

Yes - you're effectively being paid until then, so after the 30 days you can sign on for JSA.

If it's any consolation being made redundant was painful at the time, but 3 months later I found a job that I enjoy and I'm still there after 3 years

They didn't even say to us during the meeting this morning that we are entitled to representation.......

Write it all down in a log - times, dates, what was said - in case you need it.

Just found out they only have made 19 people redundant, this is how they have been able to give 30 days notice
