If you're offered a job with a company car, what value of car would you expect to get? My thinking is £30K job £300pm car, £70K jon £700pm car?

Car value is usually based on the car grade entitlement for your job title, not your wage.

So for my employer (large multinational), car grading runs like this:

Grade A (lowest) - Vauxhall Corsa or equivalent - travelling Admin
Grade B - Vauxhall Astra or equivalent - Sales Team
Grade C - Vauxhall Insignia or equivalent - Sales Team/Branch Manager
Grade D - Merc C class/BMW 3 series/Audi A4 - Senior Management
Grade E - Merc E class/BMW 5 series/Audi A6 - Regional Manager
Grade F1 - Jaguar XF/BMW 6 series - Director Level One
Grade F2 - Jaguar XJ/BMW X6/Audi A7-A8 - Director Level Two

Also, barring any medical reasons, automatics are only available at Grade F1/F2. You can have a car at your grade or lower if desired.

We have a national deal with Vauxhall for grades A-C and then Audi/Merc/BMW up to F1. After that, it's pretty much whatever, although I've given examples as to some of the cars at that grade.

A cash alternative to buy your own car, plus a monthly entitlement is also allowed. I've not done it myself, but I guess it would be 75% ish of a new car value.
