Anyone an electrical jointer?

I've been offered an apprenticeship, which I have said I will take, which will see me become and electrical jointer on the LV and HV network. I was wondering if anyone here was a jointer, what experiences they've had, or what the job was actually like, or anything I should be looking at before starting my apprenticeship in terms of reading material or videos?

Cable jointers can make some good money, if the job interests you then I say go for it.

How is a job £40K to £100K ?

Depending on overtime / and or bonus

DNO jointers get standard pay + overtime if and when available

100k sound like you have to live in work 24 hrs a day 7 days a week

I imagine it's a bonus or they are paid by results. It's my understanding that £100k is not uncommon.

Thanks for the replies chaps. As I said in my original post, I've accepted the offer (to be honest, it was a no brainer as I want to work on the electrical network!) and can't wait to start. I believe that once qualified, the money can be extremely good! Does anyone have any experiences of training and what it's like to live on the training centre?

Like I say, I'm looking forward to it, but I would also like to keep up with some of my current hobbies while in training. I appreciate that it is only for 9 months, so I would be able to stop them for a bit if needed be.
