Ok,ive got 10k and iam looking at starting my own buisness,is it possible and what could i do?
Not looking at earning a fortune,maybe a grand a month in the future.
Ive owned a butchers shop before which failed because Asda opened 100m away!!!
Dont realy want to go back into it,i fancy a complete change.

You USED to be a butcher, but don't want to do that, but you must have contacts in the restaurant trade, and pubs and clubs, and you must know something about catering (or at least pies), and not much risk, to start. Organise a party for friends and family, doing perfect catering. Photograph every dish, in fact photograph everything you cook over the next 3 weeks. Print 200 leaflets, with food photo's give them to your friends and family and get them to distribute at their workplaces. Get kids to create a Blackworm catering Facebook site. blah blah blah.

Anyway, your question is too vague. All we know is you don't want to be a butcher but you want to run your own business for £10k.
And there's nothing wrong with training as a therapist of some sort.

The whole bbq berger van thing is not viable realy,too many at it and the cost of a decent trailer and a vehicle to tow it with exceeds 10k if i was to do it right imo.
Well, if you've got experience even in a non-professional nature of fisheries, I'd be looking more into that. It's easier to succeed doing something you know about and have a passion for rather than going into something completely new just because it is profitable. When problems happen (and they often do) it is your passion for the subject in hand that will help you soldier through.

Yeah, does depend on the sector and type of business. If you're a client-based personal trainer, it could be a lot less; similar if you're a qualified accountant deciding to set up shop from home. OTOH if you got into manufacturing, I expect 30k might not be enough.blackworm said:

Why not look at setting up something like a mobile welding service for farmers?Its as i thought,not realy possible for that kind of money,back to applying for jobs!

Farmers refuse to get rid of their equipment even when its rusted and falling apart, so if you can offer a service to come round view the equipment, then come back and chop out old metal and atach new metal, it would save them time of sending it down to the local mechanic for a few days.
Just a thought.

As I say, it depends on the job. If for instance you did the above suggestion (farmer welding), all you need is welding kit, a car, insurance, advertising budget. Can't exceed £10k can it?Its as i thought,not realy possible for that kind of money,back to applying for jobs!
