an OG thread with a difference

well probably not but at least i may have improved my chances of you guys reading this!
i am currently working in the middle east. i am resident on a staff contract but this is tied to the visa and therefore runs on a 3yr cycle and the current one is due to end soon.
i am degree educated with a background in heavy industry - mech eng and operations management. my current role is in energy / power production and covers aspects of mechanical design, product support and project engineering. i am primarily responsible for fuel/infrastructure development and plant R&D projects.
i came here hoping to use the experience as a springboard into the OG world. i believe i have a lot of transferable experience and from research so far believe the most likely entry roles would be either a mech eng, discipline lead or project engineer. i am willing to relocate internationally but would prefer a staff job rather than a contract. that is not to say i would not go contracting if it got my foot in the door.
my reasons for wanting 'in' to this sector are the size and scope of projects undertaken, the challenge of the engineering exercise required to deliver a project, a varied career and possibilities for international relocation. i am currently paid well enough as to expect any raise gained through a job move to be sufficient.
i started a similar thread a few years ago which resulted in me being here today thanks to the input and guidance of a PHer. i was rather hoping that some of you would have enough experience in this field - either in similar roles or as a hiring manager - to be able to give my CV a once over. the aim being to see whether you do think i have the neccesary credentials and, if so, where i should be pitching myself.
if this is something you can help me with, i'd appreciate a PM.
