I just scribbled down what I'd done that week up to the required number of applications/actions (never more) that was so I could bump stuff a week if I had been 'lax' that week.
They never checked.

Do a search on the job centre website every week as well. It has nothing useful on it but I got pulled up on that (it might be ok if you want basic wage). There were very few solution architect roles!

Good luck.

The Jobcentre might ask you to create a profile on their Universal Jobmatch website. You can set up saved searches so you don't have to repeatedly select the same criteria. There is an activity section where you can keep a record of any applications (made on or offline), interviews, speculative letters etc.
