Higher Education - Childcare grant

I'm considering going to University about 18 years late and doing that full time degree I always said I should have. Presently I work and support the household financially and my OH looks after our 1 year old.

One thing that concerns me is the cost of childcare. My OH is looking to return to work in the near future and her salary will likely be in the 40% tax bracket.

I have seen there is a Childcare grant available, but there's no information about any means testing or anything along those lines.

Does anybody know anything about it?

I'm guessing you have your answer by now. Essentially funding for children aged three and over is available to pretty much everyone, however, this is merely a contribution. There is also funding for two year old children but this is much more restricted and I would hazzard a guess that you will not be eligible. There isn't any funding for younger children but some Universities would be able to point you in the right direction for student related funding. Speak to the University you are considering attending. The admissions department should be able to help.
