It must be a dream of most young lads to become a train driver. Well it was for me growing up near a railway line and watching the trains do there thing.

Well I now have a chance apply for a trainee driver placement next month.

Are there any pistonheaders train driver?? As I was wondering if anyone can share your experiences training for the roll and becoming a qualified operator.

Obviously there is a lot of classroom written and revising work to be done, but the big thing I worry about which has held be back in the past when thinking about applying for new jobs Is maths exams. This is the thing I struggle with the most as I'm Dyscalculia.

Maths has been a massive hurdle in my working life and would hate it to ruin an opportunity like this.

Would love to hear any experience about training to be a driver and coming up through the ranks to become a fully qualified driver.

Many thanks

Adam

There is a 19 page thread on this forum. Search it out.

If you want it bad enough you'll do all the work yourself, I know I did.

Thanks guys!!

Found a couple of threads by searching. They are stored on my home page and will have my head buried in the books and threads.

The revising is going to get a lot harsher!!
