Maternity Leave Question

Hi all,
Close friend of mine knows I have access to the world's best dynamic encyclopedia on all things about everything (PH) so has asked me to investigate. She has apparently sent the below to CAB and had no response whatsoever, so I put it to you - any clarification!?
"I am 7 weeks pregnant and currently work full-time. I ideally would like to leave my current role though and find a temporary position as I am becoming increasingly unhappy in my role. The working environment is causing me unnecessary stress which, due to my pregnancy, I am very keen to remove.
I have looked at maternity allowance on the gov uk website but am still unclear of what I would be entitled to. Please could you clarify if I would be entitled to maternity pay if I was to leave and temp and the entitlement if I was to stay at my current employment? I want to ensure that I am in the best financial position when my baby is born.
I have worked at my employers since 14-06-2012 (1 year and 11 months) and my due date is 20th January 2015. My employer doesn’t offer any company maternity pay. My monthly take home after tax is approx. £1080. My husband is employed full time.
Please could you clarify if I would be entitled to maternity pay if I was to leave and temp and the entitlement if I was to stay at my current employment?"
The gov uk website would seem to indicate that, even leaving the company at this stage of pregnancy, she would still be entitled to some maternity pay due to time served. She is not the sort to go searching for every hand out possible, and is only looking to find what she is entitled to as per legislation.

Maternity allowance if she leaves for 39 weeks. £138 a week.

Sorry for not being clearer before, apparently she had already seen those calculators before but she (and me for that matter) did not realise that you could get maternity pay if you had left the job prior to going on maternity leave.
Can anyone advise if they, or anyone they know, have successfully claimed maternity pay despite leaving the job before maternity leave?

I don't think she'd get SMP. She might be entitled to maternity allowance though.Can anyone advise if they, or anyone they know, have successfully claimed maternity pay despite leaving the job before maternity leave?
