Retaking A-Levels

I have had a dream since I was 5 years old to have a career in a job that involes a lot of very expensive training. The only way I can do tjis is to get sponsored through the training. Sadly for me, my alevels were crap. The jumo from gcses was massive, I wasn't expecting it and it caught me out.
I feel now that 4/5 years on I am more mature and so will ve able to handle the maths, physics and chemistry exams I did badly at 18. After all, I tackled harder during my degree.
Has anyone on here done this? Is it difficult to do while in a full time job? I'm 22 at yhe moment and I don't want to let my dream collapse just yet.

You don't say 'why' you want to re-do your A-levels. Is it for anything specific employment-wise? Or just for your own satisfaction?
Only reason I ask is that, if it is for employment or University entry (but you say you already have a degree?) then there is an alternative, you can do an 'Adult Access Course' which is what I did.
Consists basically of A-level syllabus for 4 subjects, intensively over a year.
So...give us some more details!!

Basically to get onto the sponsored training course you need 2 alevels a-c. Without this sponsorship I cannot do it.
I've never heard of what you mentioned, it sounds promising though. Any idea how much it costs?

I screwed up my maths 'A' level too (as coincidentally did all the class, amazing that) and would love to re-take it. You'd think after doing 2 degrees that employers wouldn't be interested in 'A' levels, but they are, even 20 years on! I looked into retaking them last year and contacted my local college. Over 16? Not interested. Stonewalled. No mention of fees or hours a week commitment, presumably just a fear of old creeps there to perv at the girls (or boys).
My next angle of attack is to ask another college if there is a booklist that I could have a copy of, and arrange to sit exams separately.

t A-Levels but still managed to get onto the graduate scheme at a FTSE 100 in Central London. It took 4 years of hard work at a mediocre university to make up for it, but can be done. Gassing Station | Jobs & Employment Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
