Hourly paid notice period

I applied for a job and never expected to make it through the stages of interview and now I have been offered it. Its an opportunity I cannot turn down.

My current job I'm paid by the hour and have been here for some time now. I'm yet to check my contract but have been advised by a few people that its 1 weeks notice on hourly pay.

Does that sound right?

Depends entirely on what's in your contract.

depends on contract but often hourly paid= weekly paid and one or two weeks notice ...

I've head jobs in the past where the notice period increases depending on how long you have been there. Best to check the contract.

Our firm do 1 weeks notice for each year of service, this works both ways.
