holiday pay less than normal pay

Morning all, long story short I work in security, I moved from 1 job where pay was barely over minimum wage, which is when I booked my holidays and the pay rate was higher than normal. As of today officially I start a new position with a considerable increase on my hourly rate yet my holiday pay is now alot less than my normal rate. Is this normal/allowed?

Thanks Dentressangle. I think because I work in shifts. The past 12 weeks were used which means a lower average rate. I have tried ringing my boss but he hasnt answered yet. http://www.ucatt.org.uk/holidays-holiday-pay
