changing from industry to teaching

Hello guys, I've been in the welding industry for 12 years and Im happy to say that I am competent and can do my job without worrying. I can't however see any light at the end of the tunnel and don't want to be stuck in a factory in 20 years time. I've found a good opportunity moving into teaching in a college, 14 to 16 year olds and 16 and over. I have mentored many apprentices and if I'm to be honest I fancy a change. Any advice,I would be glad to hear from anyone who's done such a thing. Thanks..
