A prospective employer has just asked me for, as well as the usual stuff like proof of address, proof of NI number etc, something called a 'JSA letter.' This is supposed to summarise when I've been receiving JSA over the3 last few months.

I've never heard of this! Has anybody else? More to the point, how do I get one?

A complete guess - ask the Job Centre for one. Probably just proof of your signing every week. I'm sure they'll oblige. Imagine not being able to get a job because the Job Centre won't create this letter. nuts

ask the front counter bods at your JC - they are fairly used to these requests.

After about 2 hours on the phone I managed to get through to the right department and they are sending it in the next few days. Not a quick process though!
