If Powerpoint is involved - no words on the slides - just big vivid pictures.

Use it as a backdrop to what you are saying.

They are buying you... not someone that can put 7 bullet points on a slide.

Personality, communication skills and charisma - are what they are looking for.

What is wrong with lots of small steps?

Far too often, people want a big project, a big bang. These take ages, and often a year down the line you're just seeing traction - the benefit if a big project a year on may well be less than the benefit if lots of little steps taken in january.

Improvement shouldn't be a project thing. It should be continuous. The only time that a project is required is when a team has failed to do their own continuous improvement and the st has hit the fan.

Google "kai zen" - japanese for "small benefit" (or similar) - this way of working is how Nissan et all kicked British Layland's arse into bankrupcy years ago.
