I'm adjusting my cv to start sending out to companies again...
I have a gap of around 2-3 years, In that time I have been caring for my great aunt who has recently passed away...
How should I go about writing that into my cv?...

I'd treat it like another job. Maybe not go into the "responsibilities" part, but just

2012 - 2015 Full-time carer for family member
2008 - 2012 IT systems transpoozler
2001 - 2008 Sealion puncher
1999 - 2001 Witty raconteur and wooer of daughters

Lets them know you've not been in the nick and you've been doing something positive in those years whilst not technically an employee.

Hi,

Firstly, sorry for your loss - hope you're doing ok.

I have exactly the statement Crofty put in his example on my CV and it has done me no harm.

Best of luck in getting back into the job market.

So as you have heard, it's a perfectly legitimate entry on your CV. Did you do anything else in that time, any CPD for what may have been your previous profession? If so, make sure you enter that too. If you haven't, think about starting something now so the gap gets no wider and it affords you an opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm to re-enter the traditional job market. Good luck!

Do you see any Sealions stepping out of line?

No you don't, and you're welcome.
