Best places to work
Discussion
Just found this on the Telegraph - nice to see the one I work for in the top 10. Anyone else work for any of these?

These sorts of surveys are rubbish.
I used to work at a company that had hardly any turnover of staff. It was a profitable business, they payed well, the environment was good, and people socialised together outside of work. When someone left it was a big event. It never got mentioned.
We were taken over by another company which destroyed everything good about working there. They even changed our bonus structure to pay everyone less. Everyone good left with a few months. I've never worked at a place with such a cloud over it! They featured as one of the best places to work in a national publication.

I guess London Underground is only in there because the 24 hour tube was binned
My daughter works there in the offices. A year or so ago she got 4 pay rises - in one year! Its like a nationalised company from 30 years ago. As much as I hate them for holding us all to ransom I told my daughter to stay there and enjoy benefits that most of us only see as distant memories.

I worked there (also in the offices) until a year ago. Haven't looked back, though!swerni said:
i worked for one of the global top places to work.
Frankly it's b
ks and can be used as a cynical tool to pay people less " cause it's a great place to be"
Companies can get too hung up on the survey and take their eye off of what actually makes a great place to work.
Yeah... and what makes it a great place to work is almost always... loads and loads of cash!Frankly it's b
