Legal definition of "part time"?

Is there one and is the following discriminatory? The company I work for allows part time and job share for all employees, this consists of 2/3 full days a week or 15 hours mutually agreed, except for my grade. The only way to reduce my working hours is to job share 2 full weeks on 3 off. I must also take my company pension as they will not pay 50% reduction, I would also suffer with a 2% penalty for every year prior to age 60. This seems unfair as my grade is the only one affected in this manor. It's a major company with around 750 employees in my grade (90% male) across the country.The 2% pension per year is OK as the same rule applies for full retirement 55 to 60. If I needed to reduce my hours for caring purposes this would not be possible, I may be able to arrange a specific set shift but this would still be full time. These arrangements are also OK as far as my union is concerned.

As a carer you can be protected under the Equality Act from discrimination.

It may be possible to suggest that any policy is indirect discrimination.

Have you spoken to your employer and suggested you are concerned about this ?

Sorry I may have misled posters, I merely used the carer example to high light where a reduction in the hours per week would be beneficial as opposed to the current only part time option of 2 weeks (normal rostered shift) 3 weeks off job share. I assumed the discrimination might be taking place because it's only my grade which is forced to part time in this manner.
