Hi guys,
Been a casual observer of the forums for while, and had some good advice on different matters. Thought I'd take the plunge and ask a question though. I'm a Senior Tech Analyst working for a large Global company, I deal with IT infrastructure all day from building servers through to contract maintenance. My wife was a teacher and has now started her own business, after leaving teaching, it's still in the early stages and currently has no income. I've been looking around online for ideas for 2nd jobs in the evening/weekends in the UK, and all I get is scams or stuff on netmums about hosting playdates/tupperware parties/child minding.. I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on something I could do from home in the evenings/ weekends to supplement the income? Been on people per hour but most of the work seems to be undercut by people living in countries with low costs of livings and hence they undercut everyone on price.
Cheers,
Karl.

There is work on people per hour, but you need to get the conversation away from lowest possible price and onto value. You'll not win every one of them, but I go on the basis that if each and every client just wants bottom dollar, they're also the ones who'll try and add more onto the job, and then complain when it's not exactly how they vaguely described.
Pick your battles, basically
There's often an easier route into a second job with actual physical going to places work. If that doesnt give you the flexibility you're after, there's sometimes inbound call centre work for questions/queries where you just have to be around for an amount of hours for overspill. 6-10pm for example. They're sometimes listed on indeed and other sites
