Hi All

I have an interview coming up and apparently if I make it to the next round it will involve an aptitude test / tests.

The job is a semi senior marketing role, I cant really see why they think this sort of test will help?

Anyone have any idea what it might contain and what I should brush up on?

I always brick it in aptitude tests, but last time I found some decent on line tests to get the brain working. Mental agility is essential, so some brushing up with the Nintendo brain training 'might' help.

I always take it steady and make sure I read the question correctly. (sounds obvious) I have found being correct rather than trying to finish is the best approach for most employers. They give you a target to complete so many in a set time. This is to see how you perform under pressure.

Practice will always help. The last one I had was named, so I could try a few on line prior to completing the real thing. I seem to perform quite well in these tests.

By aptitude tests,do they mean personality assessement or mental ability assessment?

Personality assessments cannot be prepared for and also contain measures that will tell the assessor if you are trying to "game" the system.

Ability assessments can be practiced but you need to find out which ones they are going to put you through.
